Sadly another earthquake has hit, and it was worst than Haiti. Taken place in Chile this devastating earthquake seems to be in the eyes of the media, this earth quake seems to be getting less air time.
I wonder why they are getting less attention, and in a way it's sad. I thought "maybe since there Haiti is so poor?" then, I thought "maybe it's because it isn't as close to the U.S?" or "maybe since their were more people killed in Haiti than Chile" but then I stop giving the media excuses, because they have none. And what ever the reason is, I feel that they should report the earthquake.
I know that something like 200,000 people in Haiti died from the earthquake and a reported 700 people died in Chile. Honestly, I feel like death is death no matter how many people died, the media needs to report it.
I found it very shocking that I didn't hear about the earthquake in Chile until a couple days later. Even watching the news last night, I didn't see a real coverage about it.
Hm, I bet if there is some kind of aftershock that kills even more people (Knock on wood) then the media will be all over it like white on rice.
But should it take that much damage for it to be covered?
